1. To provide undergraduate and postgraduate training that will achieve clinical competency (in specific and general skills) of international standard.
2. To produce highly qualified doctors and internists (general physicians) with potential for further specialization according to the health needs of the country, in conformity with the national health policy and plan.

To produce trained doctors and internists who will be able to fulfill the increasing demands of their widening role as health care providers in the community, ie be able to adopt and practice holistic concept of health care with community orientation and approach.
