History  of the  Department

            The  Department  of  Mathematics  was  established  in  May  2001 , under  the  supervision  of  Professor  Dr. Than  Myint ,  Rector  of  University  of  Medicine, Magway. In  2001, the  department  was  run  by  U  Nyan  Win  Tun  and  Daw  Khin  Htwe  Oo. In  1^st M.B.,B.S ( 5/2001 ) and ( 12/2001 ), the  teachers  who  visited  the  department  of  Mathematics  as  the  guest  lecturers  are  U  Phoe  Daung ( Lecturer  and  Head, University  of  medicine ( 2 ), Yangon ), Daw Aye  Maw ( Lecturer  and  Head, University  of  medicine ( 1 ), Yangon ), Daw  Tin  Tin  Htwe ( Lecturer  and  Head, University  of  Dental  medicine, Yangon ), Daw  Lwin  Min  Min  Aye ( Lecturer  and  Head, University  of  Dental  medicine, Mandalay ), Daw  Khin  Ngwe  Tin (  Assistant  Lecturer, University  of  Dental  medicine, Yangon ) and  Daw  Aye  Thandar  Swe ( Tutor, University  of  Dental  medicine, Mandalay )            

           In   January  2003,  Daw  Khin  Htwe  Oo  was  transferred  to  University   of  Medicine ( 1 ),  Yangon. In   April  2003,  the  department  was  reinforced  by other  three  tutors,  Daw  Ohnmar  Linn , Daw  Khin  Cho  Cho Win  and  Daw  Thi  Thi  Aye. In  October  2013,  Daw  Thi Thi  Aye  was  transferred  to  University   of  Medicine ( 2 ),  Yangon. Those  who were  assigned  as  new  appointment  are  Daw  Zin  Mar  Win, Daw  Thin  Thin  Aung  and  Daw  Thazin  New  in  march 2017.
